Story Centered: Theatre For Wellness

  • Verge Theater at Emerson Center for the Arts & Culture 111 S Grand Ave, Suite 107 Bozeman United States (map)

This workshop will be a short 60 minutes of gentle discomfort, laughter, play, validation, and sharing. Our facilitators, Kate & Dani, will bring you a small spice of improv and storytelling, centered around our lives and the ways in which we experience the world, as tools for sharing, understanding, and coping with all of our colorful phases of mental health. Here is what our workshop leads have to say about what they have to offer:

Kate (facilitating gentle improv for wellness): Whether you are an actor or not, playing theater games can be invaluable. Learn to be present and connect with others, move through fear and vulnerability in a safe space, trust yourself, communicate effectively, and most importantly, LAUGH! We’ll begin this workshop by tapping into the joy of creative play. Be prepared to move.

Dani (facilitating sharing): Stories are what give meaning to our day to day lives. We share memories and pass them down through photographs, written work, and oral communication. We share stories through our actions, rituals, and traditions each year around the holidays. Not all of them are good, but they are all meaningful if and when we share them. In this workshop we will find time to share and hold each other's stories.

This event is free but space is limited and capped at 20 participants. Please be sure to reserve your spot by getting a ticket HERE!
